2ND ANNUAL BROOKLYN SANTACON ~2013~ !! SATURDAY, 12/21 @ 2 pm
** When and where are we starting? **
We will be starting at 2 pm on Saturday, December 21st at Alice's Arbor in Brooklyn, NY (Located at 549 Classon on the corner of Fulton Street).
This year, since we’re hosting a week after NY SantaCon, all of the Manhattan Santas get a chance to join us, too!
** How do you get there? **
Take the C Train to Franklin Avenue and walk one block west to Classon Avenue. Alice’s Arbor is just off the corner of Fulton Street in Brooklyn, NY. Visit http://goo.gl/maps/P09Rp for directions.
** What's the route? **
The route will start at Alice’s Arbor in Bedford Stuyvesant at 2 pm and end at Franklin Park in Crown Heights around 10 pm.
We've made sure to include restaurants along the way so that you can fill your Santa belly and pace the merriment:) Trust us, you’ll need it...
Check back for the full route on December 20th!
** What should you bring? **
1) A GREAT ATTITUDE. The Brooklyn Santa vibe is friendly and laid-back. We want fun, friendly Santas to join the mix! Please leave drunk, mean Santas at the North Pole.
2) YOUR SANTA SUIT! (At minimum, a Santa hat). You WILL feel left out without one. Plus, we can’t call you “Santa” if you don’t have your suit on:) Of course. Elves and Reindeer are always welcome.
3) CASH FOR FOOD & DRINKS. It gets very hectic with lots of Santas, and having a tab makes it even harder to move the sleigh:). Bring cash to make the Santa experience easier…
4) A NEW UNWRAPPED TOY FOR A CHILD IN NEED * completely optional but part of the season! *
Santas love to give back. In 2011, the Manhattan Santas rocked it out by raising $10,000 for Toys for Tots and donating over 6,000 lbs of food to Manhattan and Brooklyn food banks. Last year, the Brooklyn Santas partnered with local venues and contributed hundreds of gifts to homeless children through the “Dear Santa” Toy Drive. Please join us in beating last year's record!
There will be Santas at the starting point to collect toys so that you don’t have to lug them around with you.
** What if you want to give a gift, but don’t want to carry a random toy onto the subway? **
In lieu of bringing a gift with you, you may donate directly on the "Dear Santa Toy Drive" website (www.dearsantabrooklyn.com).
All toys/donations that are received through the "Dear Santa” Toy Drive website will go directly into children’s stockings at Brooklyn homeless shelters.
** How can you stay up-to-date regarding Brooklyn SantaCon? **
